I wish you could see what I see. I’m sitting on a park bench in Gramercy. The leaves have turned the golden yellow kind and the ones who’ve already hit their peaks now scatter all over the ground.
The light is coming through and it’s casting a soft glow.
The brownstones are playing hide and seek behind these trees as if a reminder, yes we are in New York.
Moments like this it’s so easy to fall into the romance of this city. You forget the struggles. The constant construction. The sirens blaring. The heat turning off in your apartment on February 12th. I hear kids playing in the background.
This is New York.
